Yala National Park

Yala, located in Sri Lanka’s southeastern corner, is the most visited national park in the country and is world-renowned for having the highest leopard density on Earth. This vast reserve blends grasslands, lagoons, forests, and scrub jungle to create a rich and diverse habitat for wildlife, including elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 200 bird species. Divided into multiple blocks, Block 1 is the most accessible for tourists, while others offer more remote safari experiences. Cultural and historical treasures like Sithulpawwa Rock Temple and Magul Maha Viharaya lie hidden deep within the jungle. Yala is a must for nature enthusiasts, wildlife photographers, and adventure seekers who want to witness untamed beauty in its rawest form.
